Dear Friend,
The greatest need in all the world is for people (men and women,
boys and girls) to receive salvation through Jesus Christ. And
the greatest cause is all the world is to take the Gospel to all
the world that people might receive eternal life through Jesus
Christ. This is the mission of the body of Christ.
When David saw a need in his generation, he rose up to do something
about it. The great Philistine giant, Goliath, had challenged
God's people and caused them to tremble. But the little shepherd
boy, David, rose up against his enemy saying, "who is this
uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the
living God." (1 Sam. 17:26)
David saw the need and he responded to it with boldness. He did
not sit idly by and wait for someone else to deal with the problem.
He knew that with the help of God, he could defeat the enemy and
bring victory to the people of God.
His brother, Eliab, however, questioned his motives and belittled
his teenage brother. "Eliab's anger was kindled against David,
and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou
left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and
the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou
mightest see the battle." (1 Samuel 17:28, KJV).
Even today, if you stand up for a cause greater than yourself,
if you make a bold pronouncement against the enemy, some will
belittle you, question your motives and accuse you of pride. If
so, let your answer be like that of the shepherd boy, David, who
replied: "What have I now done? Is there not a cause?"
(1 Samuel 17:29, KJV).
Don't let your focus be on the Eliabs (the naysayers and the
critics), nor on the Goliaths (the problems and the obsticles).
No, determine to focus on the Lord's great cause and remember
that His power is great to give you the victory.
As you join with this ministry through your prayers and financial
support, you are uniting to the world's greatest cause. You are
making a difference in this world. Susan and I thank God for your
partnership.
For the cause,
